Miami-Dade Senior Judge Robert Deehl came home from war and into law. Now, just shy of five decades on the bench, he finally stepped down. Not because he wanted to. He has incurable cancer. He’s taking the last of whatever’s left to travel and to see some of the things he’s always wanted to see.
In December, he took a 15-hour flight from Los Angeles to Australia. Then he went island hopping. New Zealand. Tasmania. "I always wanted to see a Tasmanian devil," he said.
