The Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach opened its electronic filing doors Friday, six months ahead of deadline, and the Miami-based Third District is having the web-based software installed.

Called eDCA, the application is also used in the First and Fifth districts but is separate from the state’s e-filing portal used by the Florida Supreme Court and Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The district courts will migrate to the state e-filing system later.
