More community banks in South Florida may try to raise fresh capital this year if economic growth persists and the market for bank stock improves.

Grand Bank & Trust of Florida in West Palm Beach recently launched a stock offering, Boca Raton-based Legacy Bank of Florida is set to launch one this month, and Miami-based Great Florida Bank is planning an offering of rights to buy its stock.
