Former U.S. Attorney Dexter Lehtinen can keep Coral Gables attorney Joe Klock as his attorney in a legal malpractice lawsuit brought by the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians, the Third District Court of Appeal ruled today.
The court denied a request from the tribe to overturn Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Marcia Caballero’s decision allowing Klock to keep the case. The tribe argued Klock, who represents K.W.B. Farms, New Hope Sugar, Okeelanta and Roth Farms in environmental cases brought by the tribe, might get confidential information from Lehtinen, the tribe’s attorney from 1992 to 2010.
