A jury decided a ladder manufacturer was not liable when a man fell and fractured his skull, resulting in brain damage.

Counsel for Harry Silnicki, then 52, claimed he fell 4 feet to the ground from a 16-foot 3116 extension ladder made by Keller Ladders while repairing a roof above the front porch of his home in Miramar. His attorney claimed the ladder was unreasonably dangerous because it was not equipped with a safety device to prevent upper-section retraction.
