Newly seated North Miami Mayor Lucie Tondreau is being sued by former Mayor Kevin Burns, the loser in a June 4 runoff election, who claims she was not a bona fide city resident and should not have been permitted to run.

The suit filed Monday in Miami-Dade Circuit Court by Joseph Klock Jr., Gabriel Nieto and Hilton Napoleon II of Rasco Klock Perez & Nieto in Coral Gables claimed Tondreau “has for all or part of the one-year period preceding the election resided at 520 NE 195th St., a residential address outside of the city of North Miami limits.”
