Portman-CMC, one of the two teams vying to redevelop the 52-acre Miami Beach Convention Center complex in Miami Beach, scored a victory in the selection process today.

The center's advisory board voted 4-3 to recommend Portman-CMC as the preferred team for the $1.2 billion job. The team is a partnership formed by Atlanta-based Portman Holdings LLC and Miami-based CMC Group Inc.
