The Miami Beach Planning Board skipped the opportunity Tuesday to recommend a finalist to redevelop the 52-acre Miami Beach Convention Center property.

Board members asked the City Commission to take into account a rise in sea level when making its decision. The $1.2 billion project would modernize the convention center, add a hotel, stores, restaurants, homes and parking to the district north of Lincoln Road.
