A federal appeals court today remanded lawsuits filed by passengers following the Costa Concordia cruise shipwreck to Miami-Dade Circuit Court, ruling two multi-plaintiff cases don’t qualify for removal under the Class Action Fairness Act.

In an issue of first impression, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit affirmed orders by U.S. District Judge William Dimitrouleas in Fort Lauderdale.
