Judge Frank A. Shepherd took the oath as chief judge of the Third District Court of Appeal from Senior Judge Alan R. Schwartz.
After being sworn in, Shepherd surprised Schwartz for his service on the court by honoring him with a Southern Reporter volume containing a tribute to him. Schwartz’s name — as a lawyer or judge — has spanned 1,000 volumes of the Southern Reporter.
