A jury rejected a woman’s claim that a cosmetic surgeon’s negligence caused painful lumps, sagging and lopsidedness in her breasts.

Maria Ramos, then 40, went to Eterna Medical Rejuvenation Center in Lake Mary to have Carlos Mercado perform a liposuction-fat transfer breast augmentation procedure. Four months later, she reported lumps and associated pain. An ultrasound and mammogram revealed several small benign cysts. She claimed as a result of the cysts, she would need a subcutaneous double mastectomy and extensive reconstructive surgery.
