Two suburban Miami mayors and two lobbyists were charged Tuesday with public corruption on federal grants in an FBI sting.

Sweetwater Mayor Manny Maroño, who aligned himself with Governor Rick Scott’s jobs campaign coming out of the recession, and two-term Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi, a criminal defense attorney, were arrested at their respective City Hall offices. Both made their initial appearances in U.S. District Court in Miami during the afternoon and agreed to post bond.
