Joel Steinger, the accused mastermind of the $830 million Mutual Benefits Corp. viatical scam, will again have his day in court delayed.

Voicing reservations, U.S. District Judge Robert Scola in Miami on Monday severed Steinger’s case from the trial of Fort Lauderdale attorney Anthony Livoti Jr. after Steinger pleaded for a delay to undergo spinal surgery.
