Two law firms that represented Miami Beach investor Ira Sochet’s companies in the bankruptcy case of Scott Rothstein’s defunct law firm are fighting for a share of $6 million in attorney fees.

Attorneys for Conrad & Scherer in Fort Lauderdale and Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton in Coral Gables appeared before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Raymond Ray in Fort Lauderdale on Friday seeking a lien against $20 million recovered by Sochet, one of the major victims of the Ponzi scheme run through the accounts of Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler, chaired by Rothstein. The judge agreed to hear additional testimony but didn’t set a hearing date.
