A decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejecting a due process appeal by the tobacco industry in a smoker case will reinvigorate plaintiffs attorneys with product liability cases, a Tampa appellate attorney said.

The Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal by cigarette makers who wanted the court to overturn a $2.5 million Tampa jury verdict awarded to the survivors of a deceased smoker.
