Banco de Crédito e Inversiones chief executive officer Lionel Olavarría said the Chilean bank has a “very positive” outlook for the South Florida economy as it prepares to close its acquisition of Miami-based City National Bank of Florida in the first quarter of next year.

“We have a huge opportunity in Miami and the state of Florida because of the growth you’re having, coming out of recession,” Olavarría said in an interview Tuesday at the Miami headquarters of City National.
