A Miami federal judge on Monday ordered the chairman of the Miccosukee Indian tribe to produce documents and sit for overdue questioning by the Internal Revenue Service or face an unspecified daily fine.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams held the hearing after she issued an order to show cause why Colley Billie failed to provide paperwork demanded for the agency’s income tax probe of the tribe and members.
