A Miami-Dade jury concluded a Chinese company manufacturer defective drywall and covered it up along with its German affiliate to produce a $6 million award in punitive damages.

The jury awarded $5 million against German-based Knauf Gips and $1 million against Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin China in the verdict handed down late Friday. The award follows a compensatory award earlier this month of $1.3 million in the lawsuit brought by Jeffrey and Elisa Robin.
