Ex-Miami Dolphin Jake Long might have four Pro Bowl appearances and a first-round draft pick pedigree, but he took a hard-luck loss this week when he sold his former residence in Hawks Landing, an enclave of custom-designed homes in Plantation.

Long sold his six-bedroom, 6,186-square-foot villa at 631 Sweet Bay Ave. in Plantation for $1.8 million. That’s half a million less than what Long paid for the same property in 2009. It’s also slightly less than the home’s appraised value.
