In a split opinion, the Third District Court of Appeal on Wednesday upheld a $2.39 million verdict against a security company sued for negligence in the 2003 murder of a Miami Lakes woman.

Lidia Giangrandi, 46, was strangled by a petty criminal who was riding his bicycle in the Loch Lomond neighborhood when he noticed an open window.
