Every trial has its share of gamesmanship, but rarely do both sides hit so close to the mark as they did in the case of a man who lost three fingers in a workplace accident.

David Cappelletti, now 37, was injured in 2008 when he lost his balance and fell toward a chop saw he was using in Leeds Custom Design, a West Palm Beach shop where he was a cabinetmaker.
