The estate of a man who suffered spinal and pelvic injuries from which he eventually died recovered nearly $10.5 million.

Driver Allen Young, 47, was rear-ended by Roger Nyberg in Bradenton. Young’s sedan spun into a concrete utility pole on a tractor-trailer, which was transporting poles for installation by contractor L.E. Myers. The estate claimed L.E. Myers failed to shut down the lane closest to the off-road work area, resulting in Young traveling dangerously close to the pole and the truck.
