A bicyclist who fractured his neck and was rendered quadriplegic when he rear-ended a parked tractor-trailer recovered $750,000.

Peter McGarry, then 68, was riding in Sumter when the crash occurred. He claimed the driver, Derwood Jones, stopped in an unsafe location near a roundabout when he was able to stop elsewhere. He also claimed Jones should have put out warning triangles.
