A jury awarded $148,493 to a woman who claimed that a rear-end accident in a parking lot caused a nerve injury in her neck.
Elizabeth Cammarano, then in her 40s, was stopped in her Nissan Murano at West Boca Raton Community High in Boca Raton when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Brianna Garrity. Liability was conceded. Cammarano was diagnosed with a nerve irritation stemming from spinal/disc fluid leaking from her C5-6 disc. She underwent physical therapy and chiropractic treatment intermittingly over four years.
