A jury rejected a woman’s argument that she fractured her left thumb due to an unsafe condition on the display floor at a big-box retail store.

Maria Ortiz, then 40, was shopping at a Home Depot in Broward County when a box or boxes of ceramic floor tile fell on her left hand. She alleged the store failed to properly stack the boxes. She also alleged the store had notice of the dangerous condition but failed to warn her.
