The Florida Supreme Court held in its long-awaited decision, Delva v.Continental Group, that the Florida Civil Rights Act prohibited pregnancy discrimination in a workplace with 15 or more employees.
Pregnancy discrimination involves treating a woman unfavorably because of pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions as to any aspect of employment, including hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoff, training, fringe benefits and any other terms of employment.
