A jury awarded $48,428 to a man who claimed he injured his neck and lower back when his sedan was rear-ended by a box truck.
Bobby Harris, then 25, was driving on State Road 7 in Miami-Dade County when Elkin Tellez struck his car. Tellez conceded liability. Harris was diagnosed with soft-tissue neck injuries and ligament instability at L5-S1. A year later, he underwent a lumbar fusion at L5-S1 with two screws attached.
