In a recent opinion article published here (5/20/2014: “Duty out of control in negligent security cases”), a young lawyer who apparently represents security companies and businesses attempted to make a case that the law in Florida was somehow out of control. The picture painted was one of uncertain standards and unfair duties that varied from case to case resulting in the inability for businesses to even obtain security guards.

Nothing could be further from the truth.
