Reports of a Russian crime ring amassing 542 million unique email accounts and 1.2 billion username and password combinations once again raises questions about database security.
The breach was reported by Hold Security, a Milwaukee firm that had the results of its investigation corroborated by a third-party security expert, the New York Times reported.
