The owner of the Galleria at Fort Lauderdale mall is making a $1 billion bid to create a massive residential community and fuel retail demand around the shopping center.
Pennsylvania-based Keystone-Florida Property Holding Corp. wants to transform 40 underutilized acres around the mall into a major mixed-used development with more than 1,600 luxury condominiums and apartments.
