Four words changed Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Cindy Lederman’s approach to the law. They came as a question: “How do you know?”
By the time scientists at the National Research Council asked it, Lederman had been a civil attorney, deputy city attorney, county judge and circuit judge. She was serving in Miami-Dade’s juvenile court and regularly assigned parents to a variety of programs designed to make them fit to get their children back.
