Broward County Court Judge John Fry’s run-in with the law made him want to become a lawyer. But he almost quit after getting someone he thought was guilty acquitted.

Fry grew up in Margate, the town he calls home. But he said, “I didn’t have any, per se, adult supervision,” and his life was headed anywhere but to the bench.
