Newly re-elected Miami-Dade County Court Judge Jacqueline Schwartz has drawn the wrath of the powerful Cuban American Bar Association for comments she made after retaining her seat.

Schwartz, who beat challenger Frank Bocanegra in Tuesday’s judicial runoff election, was quoted in the Miami Herald as saying, “We have gone past the days when any nondescript Hispanic name could go on the ballot and defeat any Anglo sitting judge.”
