When Kimarie Stratos joined Memorial Healthcare System four years ago as vice president, general counsel and chief privacy officer, the six-hospital network in Broward County had no software to monitor outside counsels’ billing and efficiency, show the status of pending legal matters or manage documents.

It does now. For the past three years, Memorial has been named one of the “most-wired” hospitals by Hospitals & Health Networks, a publication of the American Hospital Association. And in 2013, Memorial reduced the amount spent on outside counsel by more than $500,000 as a result of better monitoring.
