A West Palm Beach attorney who helped forge a settlement offered by Stryker Corp. to patients who received recalled hip replacements said the deal is groundbreaking and he takes umbrage with other plaintiffs lawyers who are turning up the heat on the company.

“I think it’s a fabulous deal for the vast majority of people who had these devices implanted,” said C. Cal Warriner III, a partner at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley in West Palm Beach who is involved in about 600 Stryker cases. “I’m not interested in publicity. I have enough publicity and work. My interest is in that accurate information gets out to clients and to referral attorneys.”
