An attorney for Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers argued Tuesday to reverse a trial court order increasing his child support obligation from $2,600 to $10,000 a month.
Nancy Hass of Hallandale Beach, Chalmers’ attorney, claimed the trial court went beyond its authority when it considered the father’s “good fortune” when obligating him to fund a costly guardianship account. Hass maintained the amount far exceeded the needs of the child and disputed the court order giving the mother ultimate decision-making authority over education and medical issues for the kindergartner, Queen Elizabeth.
