A Fort Myers jury decided a neurosurgeon who allegedly caused nerve damage to a patient during a spinal operation was not negligent.

Dr. Wesley Faunce III of Cape Coral operated on Robyn Church, 40, a beauty salon manager, to remove a cyst and stabilize her spine. She sued Faunce and his professional association, Sypert Institute P.A., alleging medical malpractice, and sought $1 million.
