A Fort Lauderdale jury awarded more than $800,000 to a bar patron who was beaten unconscious by several men with pool sticks.
Michael Barnes, 40, a landscaper, sued Prince’s Beach Bar, doing business as DP’s, in Hollywood, claiming the management knew of the attackers’ history of violence and criminal activity but failed to maintain proper security for patrons. Barnes suffered a fractured upper jaw and several broken teeth. He had multiple surgeries, including implantation of wiring and titanium plates in his jaw.
