Daniel Matzkin is defying the odds, beating out about 1,000 other applicants to secure one of a handful of open positions as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of Florida.

But then, Matzkin, blind since birth due to a condition called Leber congenital amaurosis, has never let his disability stand in the way of his career or ambition.
