A federal class action lawsuit has been filed in Miami against Nissan North America on behalf of consumers who bought 2013 and 2014 Pathfinders, accusing the automaker of failing to warn consumers about dangerously defective transmissions.

The lawsuit filed Dec. 15 alleges the vehicles are subject to unexpected shaking and violent jerking. The complaint seeks damages in excess of $5 million, injunctive and declaratory relief, and punitive damages on claims of breach of express and implied warranties.
