The I.M. Pei-designed Miami Tower landmark is known for its colorful exterior lights that change for the occasion, illuminating red, white and blue on the Fourth of July, pink for breast cancer awareness month and snowflakes for chilly winter days.

But inside the iconic building, some of the tenants take a dim view its functionality—the elevators to be specific.
