John Schlesinger may be the only Miami-Dade Circuit judge to have walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards, twice. Except, of course, for his wife: former Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Marilyn Milian, who now presides in TV’s “The People’s Court.”

They met while he was an assistant U.S. attorney and she was an assistant state attorney. But it might never have happened if he hadn’t followed his brother’s advice and become a lawyer.
