A federal judge has sanctioned a Fort Lauderdale plaintiffs law firm for allegedly playing dirty in a pair of employment-related cases.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Alicia Otazo-Reyes ruled the Amlong Firm and one of its attorneys, Jennifer Daley, knowingly and recklessly filed lawsuits against EDCare Management Inc. and Hospital Physician Partners Inc. on behalf of Deborah Eldredge. Otazo-Reyes also found Daley and William Amlong “needlessly obstructed” counterclaims filed by both companies, the discovery process and efforts to enforce a subpoena for emails, among other allegations of subterfuge against lawyers for the defendants. Otazo-Reyes awarded EdCare and Hospital Physician Partners all legal fees and costs associated with defending against the lawsuit.
