A jury did not award enough to an elderly Miami Beach woman run over by a Segway, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge John Schlesinger ruled. It was the first time in his nearly 12 years on the bench that he decided to add to a jury award.

Estelle Ross was initially awarded $294,000 for medical bills and $40,500 for past pain and suffering but nothing for future pain and suffering. He added to past and future pain and suffering for a total award of $794,000 and called the amount “more in keeping with awards in similar cases.”
