More than 75 prominent lawyers and community leaders including former Miami-Dade Chief Judge Joseph Farina and attorneys Kendall Coffey, Elizabeth Schwartz and Marlon Hill vouched for a former Coral Gables lawyer Tuesday at her sentencing for bank fraud conspiracy.
Additionally, 180 people wrote U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles in Miami pleading for leniency, including former NBA player George Lynch and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine. Her attorneys, David Markus and Margot Moss of Markus/Moss, also played an 11-minute video featuring pleas from community leader including Dr. Narendra Kini, CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital.
