A developer triumphed in a long-running battle with preservationists after Miami-Dade County commissioners overwhelmingly voted to strip a Bay Harbor Islands residential building of a historic designation.
The 8-2 vote late Tuesday clears the way for P3 Real Estate LLC to close on a $16.5 million contract to buy the Bay Harbor Continental, a 1958 co-op building on Biscayne Bay at 1135 103rd St. P3 has plans to demolish the five-story structure and build luxury waterfront condos in its place.
