Unfortunately, trade-secret theft is becoming an increasingly common threat to businesses. News reports of high-profile trade-secret theft are almost routine. Recently, a case of possible corporate espionage involving Major League Baseball teams shows how all businesses are susceptible to trade-secrets theft.

For those who have not heard, the FBI is investigating whether employees of the St. Louis Cardinals illegally accessed the Houston Astros’ computer system, a scouting/personnel database called Ground Control.
