A judicial slipup on the release of accident-scene photos caused an extended delay in the case of a woman who fell knee-deep into a sewer valve-access pipe in Port St. Lucie.

City staffers took photos of the scene after Valerie Follano fell and had to be rescued by the fire department. Their pictures show an uncovered pipe, but the city’s legal team suggested firefighters “significantly” altered the surrounding area during the rescue.
