Eric Snyder, the State Department senior counsel who led its response to the congressional investigation into the 2012 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, and Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email server, has joined Jones Day as a partner.

Snyder will divide his time between Jones Day’s Washington and Sao Paulo offices as part of the firm’s investigations and white collar defense practice. He has experience in Latin America both as a former federal prosecutor in New York and a former partner at Kobre & Kim in Washington, where he represented companies and individuals targeted in federal investigations.
