Minority lawyers wrote the Broward Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission requesting the selection group submit their names to Gov. Rick Scott for consideration in judicial appointments.

The Judicial Diversity Initiative, a coalition of black bar associations in South Florida, wrote JNC chairman Zachariah “Reggie” Zachariah Jr. asking the commission to “recommend the exceptional black lawyers who have been applying to the circuit court and county court vacancies to the governor.”
